We’re no longer accepting applications for this job, but you’re welcome to apply for a different one.

Since launching in 2013, Bending Spoons has served around half a billion people across the globe through our suite of cutting-edge products. Still, we’ve only just crossed the starting line on our mission to make an enduring positive impact on our customers, on our fellow Spooners, and on society at large.

Our business is growing rapidly on an international scale, with products and services that are increasing in complexity and legal challenges that are expanding in tandem. So we’re looking for a dedicated individual, well-versed in corporate law and M&A, to navigate our wide range of legal activities, including corporate transactions, commercial matters, and myriad other high-stakes endeavors to address the ever-evolving needs of the company. If you’re skilled, meticulous, and passionate about corporate law, we’d love to hear from you.

A few examples of your responsibilities

  • Support and advise our Accounting, Finance, & Legal team and our Mergers & Acquisitions team on acquisitions and other high-stakes projects. Play a pivotal role in overseeing the whole process, conducting due diligence, analyzing and drafting transaction documents, and following post-completion formalities and obligations.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, corporate reorganizations, and integration of new legal entities in Italy and abroad.
  • Collaborate with our Finance team to manage equity plans and instruments, as well as financings and investments.
  • Negotiate, draft, review, and manage commercial contracts, including confidentiality, service, partnership, and technology agreements.
  • Provide sound and practical legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.
  • Proactively identify and address business needs with an ownership mindset, seeking out new opportunities to unlock value for the company.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel in Italy and abroad.
  • Stay up to date on relevant legal and regulatory developments.

What we look for

  • Passion. You have a genuine love for the field. You investigate the subject extensively and are always up to date with the latest developments.
  • Drive. Your dedication matches the intensity of your ambition. You’re willing to put in the hard work necessary to achieve your goals, and the highly demanding challenges in your track record are proof of your relentless spirit.
  • Accuracy and precision. Your attention to detail is spot-on, and you’re painstakingly accurate. The quality of your output, whether in academia or at work, is consistently pristine.
  • Common sense. Your judgment and intuition are sound and well grounded in reality.
  • Some experience. After obtaining a law degree, you practiced at a law firm or as in-house counsel for a period of time, in which you encountered some of the main challenges you’ll face in the role.
  • Fluent English and Italian. You can read and write fluently both in English and in Italian.

What we offer

  • An exceptional opportunity for growth. The majority of new Spooners didn’t expect to be trusted with so many responsibilities right from the start—and to be able to leverage them to explore the full extent of their potential. You’ll immediately start working in small, results-driven teams alongside some of the brightest people in your field. You’ll see Spooners in their 20s leading businesses worth hundreds of millions. And if you’ve got what it takes, you’ll soon be playing an essential role in major projects. We also do everything we can to offer a comprehensive spectrum of learning opportunities. Nothing but your drive, passion, and talent will determine how much and how fast you can grow.
  • Competitive pay and access to equity in the company. Typically, we offer an individual at the start of their career a salary of £54,545 in the UK and €52,246 elsewhere. For a candidate that we assess as possessing considerable relevant experience, the salary on offer tends to be between £66,779 and £149,636 in the UK, and €63,965 and €143,330 elsewhere. Pay grows rapidly as you accumulate experience and translate it into greater impact. You can also receive some of your pay in company equity at a discounted price, thus participating in the value creation we achieve together. If relocating to Italy, you may enjoy a 50% tax cut.
  • All. These. Benefits. Flexible hours, unrestricted remote working from European timezones, unlimited backing for learning and training, top-of-the-market health insurance, a highly supportive relocation package, generous parental support, and yearly retreats to stunning locations. We encourage Spooners to use these benefits and many more to create the conditions to do their best work.

The selection process

If you pass our screening, we’ll ask you to take on a few tests designed to assess how you approach unfamiliar problems. They’re challenging and may take several hours to complete. If you’re successful with those, we’ll invite you to a series of interviews. We set the bar high and won't extend an offer until we're convinced we've found the right candidate. This is why a job may stay open for months or be reposted several times. Studies suggest that women tend not to apply for a job if their CV isn’t a perfect fit. Here, talent takes precedence over experience. So if you like the role and think you could be awesome at it in time, go ahead and apply. Bending Spoons is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. We consider for employment any applicant and provide reasonable accommodations for an individual with disabilities—just let us know through this form.

Before you apply

If you’ve applied before but didn’t receive an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before applying again.

Bending Spoons is a demanding environment. We’re extremely ambitious and we hold ourselves—and one another—to a high standard. While this tends to lead to extraordinary learning, achievement, and career growth, it also requires significant commitment.

To help you ramp up quickly and set yourself up for success, we recommend spending your first few months working from our Milan office, regardless of your long-term work location. It’s the best way to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates. We’ll support you with generous travel and accommodation assistance. After that, you’re welcome to work from our offices in Milan or London, or remotely from approved countries—depending on what we agree at the offer stage.

If the role speaks to you and you’re excited to give your best, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
