We’re no longer accepting applications for this job, but you’re welcome to apply for a different one.

With a growing business, team, and user-base, our need for crisp, polished communication is on the rise. That’s why we’re on the hunt for an English language copywriter adept at creating sharp, engaging, and appealing copy for the many different audiences we communicate with.

A few examples of your responsibilities

  • Wordsmith a variety of communications, with the opportunity to focus on the areas where your copywriting passion and potential shine the brightest—including legalese, press releases, commercial campaigns, and UX/UI messaging.
  • Help draft impeccably resonant internal communications, such as welcome messages for new Spooners and company-wide memos.
  • Support our Spooners in an array of written formats (presentations, pitch decks, email messaging, and much more), coaching them to continuously adopt best practices.
  • Work alongside our recruiters to make sure the copy we use for events, candidate sourcing, and other important initiatives is crafted to perfection.

What we look for

  • Passion. You have a genuine love for the field. You investigate the subject extensively and are always up to date with the latest developments.
  • Impeccable English. Your command of English is impeccable—meaning you possess a mighty vocabulary, grasp of grammar, and flair for form. Speaking Italian isn't required.
  • Excellent writing skills. You understand the nuts and bolts behind creating engaging, coherent copy that can entertain, educate, and inspire different audiences, adapting according to the reader and the medium.
  • Accuracy and precision. Your attention to detail is spot-on, and you’re painstakingly accurate. The quality of your output, whether in academia or at work, is consistently pristine.
  • Common sense. Your judgment and intuition are sound and well grounded in reality.
  • Humility. You’re down to earth, eager to listen to feedback and constructive criticism, and ready to support your team with whatever it needs to succeed.
  • A collaborative nature. You can understand others and work well with them, balancing patience and assertiveness.
  • Pragmatism. Far from being too academic or obsessive in your perfectionism, you understand that speed is often as important as quality when getting things done in a competitive world.
  • Organization and structure. You’re meticulously organized and superbly structured, so you can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with poise and precision.
  • Diligence. You fulfill all your responsibilities to the best of your ability, regardless of how much you like the task at hand. People you worked or studied with would say you’re exceptionally conscientious.

What we offer

  • Flexibility and trust. From day one, you’ll be one of the team and fully trusted. No micromanagement or clipping your wings—just the freedom and responsibility to do great work.
  • Variety. You could be conjuring up copy for a wide portfolio of products and marketing campaigns, plus drafting important internal documents and countless other communications. There’s zero chance of boredom here!
  • International reach. We’re a global company, and your work will have worldwide exposure.
  • Continuous education. Spooners get unlimited backing for learning investments, including Italian or English lessons and things like courses, conferences, and books. There’s no permission or approval process—you’re fully trusted to use the company’s resources efficiently.
  • Talented, knowledgeable colleagues. Learn from (and teach) some of the brightest and most skilled people you’ll ever meet. Your talent is going to blossom here.
  • People who lift up one another. We hire for talent and leave the ego at the door. You'll find a group of truly talented Spooners who are eager to teach their secrets and to learn. Reciprocal support and respect is everything—you’re unlikely to ever encounter a more harmonious crew.
  • Remote working. Spend as much or as little time in our Milan office as you choose. Many Spooners like to change up their environment and get out of the city whenever the mood strikes. You’ve always got the freedom to decide where today’s office is.
  • Flexible schedule. Our regular hours are 9-6 GMT+1, with remote work allowed within GMT-2 to GMT+3 time zones.
  • Relocation package. If you need to relocate for the position, we typically cover reasonable transportation and moving expenses, provide up to three months of temporary accommodation, and help you and your close family members with visa support if necessary.
  • Competitive pay and access to equity in the company. Pay grows rapidly as you accumulate experience and translate it into greater impact. You can also receive some of your pay in company equity at a discounted price, thus participating in the value creation we achieve together. If relocating to Italy, you may enjoy a 50% tax cut.

The selection process

If you pass our screening, we’ll ask you to take on a few tests designed to assess how you approach unfamiliar problems. They’re challenging and may take several hours to complete. If you’re successful with those, we’ll invite you to a series of interviews. We set the bar high and won't extend an offer until we're convinced we've found the right candidate. This is why a job may stay open for months or be reposted several times. Studies suggest that women tend not to apply for a job if their CV isn’t a perfect fit. Here, talent takes precedence over experience. So if you like the role and think you could be awesome at it in time, go ahead and apply. Bending Spoons is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. We consider for employment any applicant and provide reasonable accommodations for an individual with disabilities—just let us know through this form.

Before you apply

If you’ve applied before but didn’t receive an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before applying again.

Bending Spoons is a demanding environment. We’re extremely ambitious and we hold ourselves—and one another—to a high standard. While this tends to lead to extraordinary learning, achievement, and career growth, it also requires significant commitment.

To help you ramp up quickly and set yourself up for success, we recommend spending your first few months working from our Milan office, regardless of your long-term work location. It’s the best way to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates. We’ll support you with generous travel and accommodation assistance. After that, you’re welcome to work from our offices in Milan or London, or remotely from approved countries—depending on what we agree at the offer stage.

If the role speaks to you and you’re excited to give your best, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
